Our Club

The Gwinnett Practical Shooting League [GPSL] meets every Tuesday night at the Range, Guns and Safes location on Pleasantdale Road, near Doraville, GA. All shooters are welcome, from novices to Grand Masters. We are affiliated with USPSA and apply their rules to our Level 1 matches. You can register (and pay) online at Practiscore, or just show up; walk-ins are welcome

The yearly membership fee is $35, which supports the club in covering equipment, supplies and other costs. While non-members are always welcome, GPSL members will receive a discount at each weekly match.

The Match

Our matches typically consist of 3 stages with mostly paper targets, but sometimes with some steel targets as well. The typical shooter will bring a semi-auto pistol, with PCCs (Pistol CaliberCarbines) also becoming a popular option. We even have had wheel guns (revolvers) show up! Once a month we offer a classifier (for USPSA) and we also have occasional rifle side-matches where one can run a stage with an AR, AK, et al.

For the newbie, we'll ask you to attend a safety briefing prior to the match, so please come a little early to get that accomplished. A belt-attached holster is highly recommended, as well as some way to hold additional magazines (e.g. belt pouch). The number of magazines required will be dictated by the number of targets in a stage and in what division you're running. Minimum 2 mags, but 4 are recommended.

The Details

Tuesdays, 7p-9p. Range, Guns & Safes, 4025 Pleasantdale Rd, Atlanta GA 30340. Please arrive earlier to check-in and to help set up. Typical matches will require between 70-100 rounds. Range, Guns and Safes is a cold range; all weapons brought in must be unloaded and cased. A safety area will be available to uncase and holster your weapon. PCCs should have a visible chamber flag, and remain bagged until called to the shooting area. Eyes and ears required at all times once match begins.

Ours is a volunteer organization. We ask all shooters to help paste targets to keep the match on time, and to assist in breaking down the stages at the end of the night.
